Indian Squad for T-20 world cup announced by BCCI’s selection committee. The T-20 World cup is coming very close and it will start on Oct 16, 2022. The world’s top 16 teams will clash in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Let’s talk about the Indian squad for T-20 world cup in Australia.

Indian Squad For T-20 World Cup & Home Series:

BCCI’s AISSC (All-India Senior Selection Committee) met to pick India’s squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia and for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa at home. Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the T-20 World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who have regained fitness, were named in India’s 15-man squad for T20 World Cup.

However, veteran pacer Mohammad Shami has been named among four reserve players for the multi-nations tournament. Bumrah, who was suffering from back injury and Harshal, who had a side strain, had done an intense rehabilitation programme at the NCA and the BCCI medical team has deemed them fit for the series.

India will start their campaign against Pakistan on October 23. And then play against Group A Runner up, South Africa, Bangladesh & Group B Winner respectively on October 27, October 30, November 02 & November 06.

Umesh Yadav will replace Mohammad Shami against the Australian series after he gets positive reports of Covid-19.

Standby players – Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.

Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, and Ravindra Jadeja will miss this world cup. Ravindra Jadeja is recovering from injury and Sanju & Ishan will miss this world cup because of Rishabh Pant. Pant is getting chances after failing in Asia Cup as well.

Indian Squad for Australia Series:

Australia will play their three T20Is at Mohali (September 20), Nagpur (September 23) and Hyderabad (September 25).

South Africa will start their tour with T20Is at Thiruvananthapuram (September 28), Guwahati (October 2) and Indore (October 4). India will also play the Proteas in a three-match ODI series just before the World Cup, the squad for which will be announced in due course.
