The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday, Feb 17 announced the TATA IPL 2023 schedule. The upcoming edition of the IPL (IPL 2023) will return in the home and away format. All teams will play seven home and as many away matches. A total of 70 league-stage matches will be played across 12 venues over the course of 52 days.

According to IPL 2023 Schedule on March 31, defending champions Gujarat Titans taking on Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium at 7:30 PM IST in Ahmedabad, as the league returns to its long-established home-and-away format in India for the first time since 2019. The final will also be held in Ahmedabad, on May 28.

The IPL is set to begin five days after the final of the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) on March 26, and the opening weekend will have all ten teams in action: after Gujrat Titans play CSK on Friday, Punjab Kings take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali at 3:30 PM IST, and Lucknow Super Giants play Delhi Capitals in Lucknow on Saturday at 7:30 PM IST (April 1); and Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad at 3:30 PM IST, and Royal Challengers Bangalore play Mumbai Indians in Bengaluru on Sunday at 7:30 PM IST (April 2).

The teams have been divided into two groups like last season. Group A has Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants, while Group B has Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujrat Titans, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. But unlike last season, each team will play the five teams of the other group twice and the other four from their own group once, making it 14 league games per team.

Full TATA IPL 2023 Schedule:

The TATA IPL 2023 will be played across 12 venues with the world’s biggest stadium – Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamsala. Fans will enjoy double headers every Saturday and Sunday.

The schedule for the four playoff matches has not been announced yet, apart from the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad being identified as the venue for the title clash.

The league phase comprises 70 matches across 52 days from March 31 to May 21, spanning 12 cities, and will feature 18 double-headers. In addition to the ten regular venues – Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Mohali – some matches will be played in Guwahati (Royals’ second home), and Dharamsala (Kings’ second home).

Royals will play their first two home games in Guwahati and the remaining five in Jaipur. Kings, on the other hand, will play their first five home matches in Mohali and their last two home games in Dharamsala.

IPL 2020 Schedule: Points to remember

  • 24 matches will be held in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi, and 12 in Sharjah. The first doubleheader will play on October 3.
  • There will be 10 doubleheaders with the first match starting at 3:30 PM IST and 2:00 PM UAE time.
  • All the evening games will begin at 6 PM (UAE Time) at 7.30 PM IST.
  • The league phase will run across 46 days, with the last match of the league to be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah.

The IPL Governing Council has announced the schedule for IPL 2020. “The season will kickstart on 19th September in Abu Dhabi with a blockbuster clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings,” said a statement on Sunday( September 6 ).

The action will move to Dubai on September 20 when Delhi Capitals will begin their campaign against Kings XI Punjab, followed by Sunrisers Hyderbad‘s opening clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on September 21.

Sharjah’s first match will be held on September 22, between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.

The first doubleheader will play on October 3. There will be 10 doubleheaders with the first match starting at 3:30 PM (IST) and 2:00 PM UAE time. All the evening games will begin at 6 PM (UAE Time) ie 7.30 PM IST.

IPL 2020 Schedule

Five of the 10-day games will be hosted in Abu Dhabi. Dubai will host four-afternoon matches, while Sharjah will have only one match starting at 2 PM. All teams will play a minimum of two-day games, with the only RCB, KKR, RR, and SRH set to play in three.

Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders will play 8 of their league matches in Abu Dhabi, while Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad will play 8 of their games in Dubai. The maximum number of games KXIP, RCB, and DC will play at a venue is 7 each in Dubai.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have an almost equal distribution of matches. RR will play five matches in Abu Dhabi and 6 matches in Dubai. All teams will play three games each in Sharjah. If we can talk about all 24 matches will play in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi, and 12 in Sharjah.

The league phase will run across 46 days. The last match of the league will play between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah on November 3. The dates and venues for IPL playoffs, the final, and the women’s T20 league have not been announced.
