Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in its IPL 2023 opener on April 2 at 7:30 PM at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In this blog, we will talk about the RCB schedule, squad, and captain as well.
The Faf du Plessis-led Bangalore finished third in the points table and lost to Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier in IPL 2022. And he’ll lead RCB in the TATA IPL 2023 as well. Here’s the full list of fixtures, venues, and match timings for the RCB.
RCB is placed in group B and the final of IPL 2023 will be played on 28th May at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Group B: RCB, GT, CSK, PBKS, SRH.
RCB Squad for TATA IPL 2023:
Faf du Plessis (C), Finn Allen, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Suyash Prabhudessai, Will Jacks, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Sonu Yadav, Manoj Bhandage, Akash Deep, Josh Hazlewood, Siddarth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Karn Sharma, David Willey (ENG), Avinash Singh, Rajan Kumar, Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma.
After Glenn Maxwell’s injury, Josh Hazlewood is set to miss a few matches due to recovering from an Achilles injury. The Australian pacer is also ruled out of the remaining two Test matches against India in BGT and has returned home for treatment. It is still not clear whether the RCB pacer will be fit in time to play the team’s first match against Mumbai Indians on April 2. It is a big setback for RCB because Josh Hazlewood is RCB’s most consistent bowler in power play and death overs.
So, With Faf Du Plessis, Finn Allen, David Willey, and Wahidu Hasaranga can play in starting 11 against RCB’s tournament opener on April, 2.
