How the Champions League group stage draw works (from UEFA):
The draw features 32 teams: 26 teams given direct entry to the group stage and the six winners of the play-off ties.
The teams have been split into four seeding pots. Pot 1 consists of the holders, the UEFA Europa League winners and the champions of England, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal and Netherlands. Pots 2 to 4 were determined by the club coefficient rankings.
In the case of associations with two representatives, clubs will be paired to split their matches between Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Due to the war in Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA announced in February that Russia would be indefinitely banned from competition on both an international and a club level. On May 2, UEFA announced that Russian clubs were disqualified from competing in the 2022/23 editions of all European tournaments.

The Ukrainian Football League decided to award its two Champions League places to the top two teams in the table as of the suspension of the league, with Shakhtar Donetsk in first and Dynamo Kyiv in second.

2 games of Esports were a demonstration event at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. Now, Esports will make its debut at the Asian Games 2022.
The eight medal games are PUBG Mobile (An Asian game version), FIFA (made by EA SPORTS), Arena of Valor (An Asian game version), Dream Three Kingdoms 2, HearthStone and Street Fighter V, DOTA 2 and League of Legends. Firstly, Esports was added to the Asian Games sports programme at the OCA General Assembly in Muscat, Oman on December 16, 2020. It was a demonstration sport at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018, In other words, medals did not count in the official medal rankings.
The Director-General of the OCA, Mr Husain Al-Musallam, said: “We hope that this announcement allows all participating teams ample time to prepare and equip themselves ahead of the qualifying stages. MPL plans to use the funds to finance global expansion, invest in technology and strengthen its footprint in India, the world’s largest market for game downloads with an estimated 840 million installs in June.
Mobile esports and skill gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) has reached a pre-money valuation of $2.3bn (~£1.7bn) after a Series E funding round led by Legatum Capital.
MPL come in the news when they picked Virat Kohli as Brand Ambassador.
The latest funding achievement for the Indian gaming and esports company grants it unicorn status – a privately held startup worth over $1bn – becoming the second Indian gaming startup to do so.
MPL is a skill-based mobile gaming platform offering players a chance to compete in tournaments and matches for prizes. It includes both esports and casual gaming titles, as well as traditional games like sudoku and chess.
In July, MPL launched operations in the US and recently completed two years of operations in Indonesia. MPL has over 90 million registered users globally.
MPL did not release details about the funding round, but the company is reported to have raised $150 million (~£110m), according to sources at GamesBeat.
The Series E funding round was led by Legatum Capital, an investment firm based in Dubai. Accrete Capital, Gaingels, and existing investors, including Moore Strategic Ventures LLC and RTP Global participated, per business data platform Crunchbase.

The news comes after a Series D funding round in February raised $95 million (~£69m) and valued the company at $945 million (~£684m). MPL aims to reach 300,000 users and $100 million in gross merchandise revenue by the end of the year.
Mobile gaming is one of the fastest-growing gaming sectors in India, with over 365 million mobile gamers, according to a CSLA report cited by Business World.
